It's a blessings to hear testimonies of men in the addiction recovery program as they share what God has done to change their lives. This resident advanced to the second phase of the program, and this is what he shared:
I am so good at speaking in public, I do not know where to start. I made a decision for the Lord when I was 24. I accepted because He is real.
I was spiritually attacked after this decision. Things got really rough. I started depending on my addictions for comfort instead of the Lord. I have been in and out of the program several times. As the Lord renewed my mind, I have been slowly healing. Now I have been depending on Jesus and God's plan instead of my plan.
I am no longer in a hurry to have everything fixed. When I walk down the street I am singing praises to God. I look to praise Jesus in every situation. I know I’m not perfect, but God is working in my life.
Thank you to everyone here, especially my chaplains. I am so thankful for UGM and allowing me to be here. I know I am here because God wants me here.
- Col 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
- 1 Peter 3:9 - Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
