Gimli Fish Fry!

From one of our chaplains, George: “Every year residents and staff from our men’s addiction recovery program have the opportunity to go to Gimli Bible Camp for our annual fish fry. This event is sponsored by four businessmen who have partnered with the program for over 10 years. Menno and Brenda Bartsch were gracious hosts that opened the camp for us. It was a relaxing morning with some basketball in the gym and peaceful walks on the beautiful grounds by the lake. After a hearty lunch with all the pickerel, onion rings, fries, and salad we could possibly eat, we all sat around the fireplace as one of our sponsors gave us the history of Ron Hiebert, who was the former UGM resident who inspired this event. The men were listening intently and very inspired by the story. We all got up and prayed for the businessmen as they stood together after the testimony was shared. Everyone commented on how greatly they were impacted by this time together. After this we broke up into two teams and had a very competitive game of basketball before we left for home. A great time was had by all!” Praise God for this opportunity!
