Other Donation Methods
You may use our Donation Form for any donations sent by mail if you are a first time donor or when more contact information would be useful.
Many businesses collect for United Way through corporate drives. If your company offers this, specify that you would like your donation to go to UGM. Please remember to give more than $12 though – that’s what United Way deducts for their administrative fees!
All Charities Campaign
Just as businesses will collect for various charities through the United Way campaigns, the Manitoba provincial government does it as well through their All Charities campaign. You can pledge or give through payroll deduction if you are a provincial government employee. Simply indicate that you would like your donation to go to UGM, and they will take care of the rest, without charging any administrative fees! Each dollar given goes, in full, to UGM.
Wills & Bequests
Of course, you can also remember UGM upon your passing, and leave a legacy that will go on and on. This can be done, in consultation with your lawyer, as you draw up your will. Further information regarding this option can be obtained by calling our Public Relations department at (204) 943-9904, ext. 224.
Securities Appreciating Stock
Your gift of eligible securities to Union Gospel Mission Winnipeg is a great way to benefit both you and our ministry. How does it benefit you? The Canadian Income Tax Act has a provision that provides enhanced tax relief (i.e., no tax on the capital gain) when eligible securities that have appreciated in value are sent as an in-kind gift from the donor’s brokerage account to a charity’s brokerage account.
How can it benefit Union Gospel Mission Winnipeg? We use the services of the Canadian Centre for Christian Charities Community Trust Fund (CTF) to facilitate this type of in-kind donation by you and they handle the administrative work on our behalf. The CTF will provide you the form needed to direct your broker to send your securities from your brokerage account into theirs. They will then issue the official tax receipt to you; provide you the form to have Union Gospel Mission Winnipeg be your designated charity beneficiary; will sell the shares on our behalf; do the necessary paperwork for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and send us the net cash proceeds.

If you wish to proceed, our CRA charity number is: 119275758RR0001 which you will use in the charity beneficiary form to let the CTF know you are supporting us. Each gift designated toward an approved program will be used as designated, with the understanding that when any given need has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason determined by the Board, designated gifts will be used where needed most. Gifts are acknowledged and receipted with an official receipt for income tax purposes.
