It warms my heart when a child asks sincere questions pertaining to the things of God. A lot of queries are based upon false information and half-truths that they heard from friends and family members. They also think Hollywood is an honest and accurate source. So you can imagine how mixed up their minds can get.
When answering questions, I like to start with, “The Bible says....”. This lets them know I am not answering out of my own thoughts, but rather from God’s Word. In the event I get a question I am not sure how to answer, I intend to tell them plainly that I don’t know, but I will find out for them. I have no problem telling kids, or anyone else, that I don’t know everything, but God does. I thank Him for the Bible. Everything we need to know about God while we live on this earth is contained in the Bible.
2 Timothy 3:16 tells us plainly, “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”
I allow the Bible to answer spiritual questions, and then afterwards I pray that they accept the truth and live by it.
