Praise & Prayer

  • Pray for those that made a decision to follow Christ as Lord and Saviour, may they seek His guidance in their lives.

  • Praise the Lord for the overwhelming response to those who attended our Annual Community Street New Years Day Meal.  Guest attended a chapel service, submitted prayer requests and had an invitation to receive Christ as their Lord and Saviour.  They also received a Christmas Gift and a hot Turkey Dinner.

  • Pray for our clients as they continue to struggle with addiction to drugs and alcohol.  The winter months can be particularly hard.

  • Praise the Lord for God's overwhelming provision in 2019.  Our supporters have blessed us immensely.

Addictions

One of our recent residents came to us from jail.  I first heard about him through his girlfriend who was involved with a maternity home I am connected with.  While visiting with the lady, she informed me that the father of her unborn baby was in jail.  I decided to make connections with this man through a friend of mine who is a chaplain in the jail where he was incarcerated.

A visit was arranged and I was able to speak on several occasions with him in the chapel.  He then decided that he would like to come to UGM upon his release, so he could get a good foundation on Christian living in order to help move his life in a better direction.

He is doing just that and he has asked if I would marry him and the mother of his child in the summer.  People don’t come to Union Gospel Mission because their lives are perfect, however we do our best to help them begin moving in the right direction.  We are trying to do this with this man.

Please pray for all who will remain open to the Lord’s intervention.  God will meet us no matter where we are.  Lord help us to be willing to do that for people as well!
