True Rest

June-2018-Blog-Pic

Matthew 11:28  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.”

With Summer upon us here at the Mission, I am reminded of these words of Christ Jesus as I see people finding rest for their bodies on the grass around 320 Princess.

Much like the grass that needs cutting, the weeds that need pulling and the garbage that’s routinely picked up as part of Operation’s, I’ve enjoyed the thought of how we find our TRUE rest in Christ.  He also comes in and trims the grass and plucks the weeds out of our hearts daily, as we commune with Him He clears the fleshly garbage out of our lives.

I would encourage you all as you're driving or walking by the Mission through these next few months, seeing our guests resting on the green grass during the day, to look beyond the physical and see people who are loved by God, and like me and you, are in need of the TRUE rest that can only come from Jesus.
