Another advancement in the Men's Addiction Program! Praise the Lord! This is the testimony he shared.
I was asked to give my testimony to advance to the next phase of the program. What I am learning now is to respect authority. I had a problem with that for a long time. I’m starting to listen to my Chaplains and to what God is telling me.
This is my second time at Union Gospel Mission in the program. The first time here, I thought I was doing good enough after 7 or 8 months. My welfare worker even said I was here long enough and should be good enough to leave. But now we know what happened with that decision. I am trying to make better decisions now.
I have been an addict since 12 years old. That is over half my life. I have tried to quit meth on my own, and that never worked. I have tried other programs in the area, but they were missing something. I visited UGM for the noon Chapel & Meal program and I was asked by a chaplain if I wanted to come back in to the program as there was a room available. I was admitted into the program 2 days later.
I struggle in my faith, but not with my faith. I believe in God, but I still struggle.
Lamentations 3:1-25 It has been a difficult road for me, but I am glad that it is God who disciplines and corrects me. My hope is in Him not in me or man.
Thank you God for giving me a Savior! Thank you Jesus for taking that weight from me! Thank you the Holy Spirit for you guidance and wisdom!
Psalm 103 - Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
