The first week of January in the year of our Lord 2018 is upon us, as well a new season. The writer of Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that there is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every event under heaven.
This past 2 weeks has been the season of rest and rejuvenation for our Sponsored Students that are enrolled in our Christian School Program. Some of our students were away visiting relatives on the reserve, while others have not left the North End. Regardless of where the students may be, we pray that they are in arms reach of the cross. We pray that parents make healthy and wise choices concerning all family members.
Misery is no respecter of persons, and it seems to be more abundant in the inner-city where poverty is more prevalent. As we walk into 2018 with our eyes wide open, I remind our students and family members what our Lord tells us through the prophet Isaiah “'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
There are some song lyrics that say “down on my knees, I learned to stand”. These are profound words that I pray penetrates all of our hearts. A new season is upon us and to God be all the glory!!
