Children at Family Life Centre

In the parable of the sower, Jesus talks about four different responses to the Gospel; which are all dependent on the condition of the heart.  The heart of a child is more open to the Word than is an adult’s, but that is providing the child is actually exposed to Bible teaching.

It’s obvious that for the most part, talking about Jesus Christ just doesn’t happen in the homes of the kids who come to the Family Life Centre.  The “soil” is troubled.  So, with patience and perseverance, our mighty Saviour is introduced into their lives.  This is our goal.  It’s been said that ministry happens best in the context of relationships.  That is very true!  So, an effort is made to let the children know they are cared for and loved.  In honesty, they are cared for; but at times there is a small degree of difficulty in the “loving” part.  But love does prevail and earnest prayer is a constant.

The work of the Holy Spirit is to change hearts.  The timeline for this is not known to us.  What we know is that it’s our responsibility to spread the seeds of Truth into soil overrun with apathy and doubt. It’s also our responsibility to pray about it.  To pray, pray and even pray some more.  It’s a privilege and joy to do the work of the Lord at Union Gospel Mission.  Can you please pray for each of the kids who come to the Family Life Centre?
